What. A. Year. We don’t need to hit you over the head with it because, well, you lived it too. 2020 was a wild ride. As individuals, we are all, hopefully, a little more resilient and agile as a result. We’ve been pulled and pushed in ways that break down barriers and show our basic humanness to our coworkers, family, and friends. Maybe you are a parent, or you know a parent, who is juggling Zoom calls and childcare duties. Perhaps you’re sharing a work from home space — and sometimes that means one of you is Zooming from the garage next to the lawnmower. The line between what is personal and professional is blurred. These are human problems. Bottom line: we are all learning to be a bit more vulnerable, empathetic, genuine, agile, adaptable — and human — in our lives.
This journal is a little gift from G5 to you and your team. We hope it allows you to unpack what has happened, find gems you want to take with you into the new year, and identify areas you’re ready (and able) to let go of in 2021. Here are a few guidelines on how to use this journal as your 2021 goal-setting workbook.
